You will be involved in the conception of various research projects, in particular with regard to editing and up-dating one of ELM’s series of country guides: ‘Looking for work in…’. These guides are used all over the world by people interested in a career in that respective country.

You will have to conduct interviews with people who took the plunge and went to work in that country during the updating process. Therefore a certain attitude as well as good writing skills are essential. You will be given the opportunity to learn to work independently according to a tight schedule. We ensure the assignment is challenging and provides a culturally demanding experience. The end result, an international career publication with ISBN number, will bear your name, provided your internship has been up to a certain level.

The ideal candidate should:

  • Have a University or HBO level bachelor degree in Communications, Political Sciences, International Relations, Languages and Culture studies or other relevant degrees.
  • Have excellent communication skills in English.
  • Have demonstrably good written English skills.

We prefer a candidate who already has experience in organising and/or coordinating certain projects or events. We are looking for a candidate that has strong communication skills, who is organisationally sensitive and flexible. Also, it is important you have some attention to detail and are not afraid to work independently as well as in a small group.
