SUMMARY:EAIE Community Moments webcast: Congratulations\, graduates! What next?
DESCRIPTION:On June 18th\, join the EAIE “Community Moments” webcast about the next steps for recent graduates after finishing their academic education. \nAs summer approaches\, graduating students are beginning to celebrate their accomplishments and move toward the labour market. Finding a job or an internship is complex enough in a normal year\, but how are the dynamics of a persistent global pandemic affecting employability outlooks today? How are international educators adapting to the pandemic-imposed challenges of readying students for the world of work? How are careers specialists helping students to articulate the value of their largely online international learning over the last year? These timely topics\, among others\, are the focus of the next EAIE Community Moment\, in conversation with Nannette Ripmeester\, Director of Expertise in Labour Mobility. Join us for this event which is free for EAIE members and non-members. \nRegister here: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_fIXDTMYmTf-LOxwyw-5RQw

In Atlantic Canada\, our work is providing strong results for the attraction and retention of international talent to the region.

SUMMARY:ISB Feedback Session 2021\, University of Amsterdam (UvA)
DESCRIPTION:The International Student Barometer™ (ISB) tracks and compares the decision-making\, expectations\, perceptions and intentions of international students from application to graduation. \nDuring the virtual ISB feedback sessions\, Nannette Ripmeester and her colleagues highlight important issues\, insights and results\, against national\, regional and global benchmarks. Our aim is to give participating institutions (that have opted for a feedback presentation) a substantive insight into the global picture and how their institution fares against it. \nUnderstanding the reasons why international students choose your institution and knowing what makes them recommend their experience to other (prospective) students is key for the work we do within Europe.  \nWe work with international offices\, with M&R experts\, and with communication and career offices to maximise the findings of the surveys we run within Europe.

SUMMARY:Erasmus+ Alumni Employability Training for Career Officers
DESCRIPTION:While the job hunt for fresh graduates was rigorous before\, the pandemic has made the transition from higher education to the labour market even more difficult. How will University career guidance support its students with this transition during the pandemic and in a post-pandemic world of work? \nTogether with our partner organisations (ESN\, EUF\, Leo-Net\, EIIL\, Umons\, UAH\, Muni\, Universita degli Studi di Roma Tor Vergata) Expertise in Labour Mobility (ELM) is participating in the ErasmusJobs project\, funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union. \nThe ErasmusJobs project’s objective is to bridge the skill gap between higher education and the international labour market. Join us on March 24 & 25 for a two-day training\, especially designed for career officers to help them guide students towards potential jobs. \nNannette Ripmeester\, the founder of ELM and CareerProfessor\, will be addressing one of the most common threats facing students in their move to the global labour market: translating their Erasmus exchange skills into stories that employers value.  Going on\, Erasmus will equip students with new skills that\, in turn\, will be beneficial to their professional development and their new employer. \nBut how do they translate their unique skill set into eye-catching CV entries and interesting job interview topics? \nThese training events will be carried out in a Train-the-Trainer fashion to create a multiplier effect among participants. The training will equip career officers with a new toolset to organise workshops at their institutions\, to further guide colleagues in supporting students in their international job hunt. \nWhat to expect on March 24 and 25? Click here for the program and here to register. \nThe Erasmus Jobs project has been funded with support from the European Commission.
