SUMMARY:CAREER GUIDANCE FOR PhD’S AND POSTDOCS (DAY 1) | RADBOUD UNIVERSITY
DESCRIPTION:Goal: \nThis series of workshops is aimed at clarifying career development for both international and Dutch PhD’s or postdocs at the beginning of their career. After the workshops they will have an action plan for career development and will be able to act upon this plan to take their career to the next level. \nContent: \nPhD’s and postdocs often face questions concerning career development – you have to prepare for the next step in your career\, one that is not necessarily taking place in the academic world. To be able to make progress\, you may want some guidance. You need to know your strong and weak points. You need to understand the power of networking. You need an understanding of the job market in both academia and the profit sector. You should be aware of (international) employment opportunities. \nA (virtual) high-intensity workshop\, delivered by Nannette Ripmeester\, of two full days tailored to PhD and Postdoc candidates that provides participants with the necessary tools and tips to understand their career values and identify future career paths based on their interests and skills. \nParticipants will have the opportunity to create their own action plan for their next career step. Most importantly\, they will be able to act on that action plan and take their career towards the next level\, either within academia or beyond. Delegates will feel empowered to look for work in their research field\, inside and outside of the Netherlands. \nKey Learnings: \nAt the end of the workshop\, all participants will: \n\nCreate an insight into personal and career goals;\nProvide a systematic process for exploring career needs;\nFocus on current position\, desired goals\, and unique personal resources;\nEnhance practical career skills (in a global world);\nCompare career options to formulate an action plan.\n\nCourse Language: English

SUMMARY:WEBINAR | HOW DO EMPLOYERS RECOGNISE COMPETENCIES GAINED DURING MOBILITY?
DESCRIPTION:Join Nannette Ripmeester for her ErasmusCareers Webinar titled “How Do Employers Recognise Competencies Gained During Mobility?” on January 22nd 2025 at 17:00 – 17:50 CET. This webinar is the third out of the three webinars of ErasmusCareers project\, where participants will learn about the value employers give to competences gained during mobility\, and how it is recognised in the recruitment and onboarding processes. \nMeasuring the impact of mobility abroad on students’ career development remains challenging and the support they receive from universities in identifying and assessing competences is modest. The Erasmus Careers project aims to ensure that the competencies gained on mobility are recognized by students and employers and contribute to the career prospects of Erasmus+ participants.
