SUMMARY:WEBINAR | HOW DO EMPLOYERS RECOGNISE COMPETENCIES GAINED DURING MOBILITY?
DESCRIPTION:Join Nannette Ripmeester for her ErasmusCareers Webinar titled “How Do Employers Recognise Competencies Gained During Mobility?” on January 22nd 2025 at 17:00 – 17:50 CET. This webinar is the third out of the three webinars of ErasmusCareers project\, where participants will learn about the value employers give to competences gained during mobility\, and how it is recognised in the recruitment and onboarding processes. \nMeasuring the impact of mobility abroad on students’ career development remains challenging and the support they receive from universities in identifying and assessing competences is modest. The Erasmus Careers project aims to ensure that the competencies gained on mobility are recognized by students and employers and contribute to the career prospects of Erasmus+ participants. Keen to know more about the project? Click here. \n

SUMMARY:THE NEW GLOBAL REALITY: CULTURAL MISUNDERSTANDINGS IN VIRTUAL WORKING
DESCRIPTION:Personal branding is the practice of people marketing themselves and their careers as brands. And it’s here to stay. For a student or a recent graduate\, personal branding affords the possibility to stand out in the noise of job applicants and to showcase measurable pieces of work for potential employers. \nPart of UCSC’s course “Personal Branding: Impact\, Influence and Effectiveness in the Workplace” from Professor Stefania Vitulli\,  Nannette Ripmeester will provide two workshops that will take students through the main steps for increasing their exposure online\, approaching employers and building a digital personal brand that will (hopefully!) land them the job of their dreams. \n\n\n\nThe course provides an overview of how to prepare for the job market and benefit both your academic performance and your future as a professional. The course is set up to maximize the background\, internship or professional past experiences\, international experiences to implement the cultural approach and soft and hard skills of each student to focus at best on building the skills needed to land your dream job.

SUMMARY:Webinar: How do we deliver career outcomes in COVID-19 times?
DESCRIPTION:How do we deliver career outcomes in COVID-19 times?\nJoin us for a thorough discussion on supporting students’ employability in times of uncertainty\, looking at how to better equip them for a job market during and after the COVID-19 crisis. \nAt this very moment\, a common struggle among international higher educators is continuing to provide students with mobility and employability opportunities during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Research shows that students are anxious about their future and seek employability skills to best navigate a global society that is constantly changing. When universities teach students employability skills\, they don’t just equip them with the skills that employers are looking for but most importantly\, they are giving them the skills and knowledge they need to become the best versions of themselves in life and at work. And while providing those skills is only one part of the equation\, helping students understand how to leverage those skills in real-life situations is the second and sometimes overlooked part. Training and unpacking employability skills have never been more relevant. \nIn this webinar\, we will hear from career and mobility experts working for universities in Europe and North America\, about what they are currently doing at their institutions to support students in gaining employability skills and preparing them for the world of work. \nRegister here: https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/2193579984057153547   \nThe event is brought to you by CareerProfessor.works – the employability app that trains intercultural competence and prepares students for a global world of work – and is organised by Expertise in Labour Mobility. For more information feel free to contact Sevi Christoforou via s.christoforou@labourmobility.com with your questions. \nLooking forward to meeting you online and finding out together ‘How do we deliver career outcomes in COVID-19 times’?
