SUMMARY:CAREER DEVELOPMENT: ‘LOOKING FOR WORK IN THE NETHERLANDS’ FOR INTERNATIONAL PHD CANDIDATES | TU DELFT
DESCRIPTION:International PhD candidates looking for a job in the Netherlands often face questions around career development to prepare for their next career step\, a step that is not necessarily taking place in the academic world. This one-day workshop aims to deliver insights into balancing your career values with your career goals.  What job opportunities offer academia vs the profit sector in the Netherlands? What questions are raised during a job interview? What makes a Dutch employer tick? And what makes an international PhD candidate outstanding? \nThe Graduate School has chosen to deliver this workshop in person on the TU Delft premises. Stay connected\, stay positive\, and prepare for the future.    \nLecturer: Nannette Ripmeester

SUMMARY:CBIE2026 | Listening\, benchmarking\, acting: turning survey insights into institutional change
DESCRIPTION:Join Eric Simard (Fanshawe College)\, Katie Orr (NSCC)\, and Nannette Ripmeester (etio) for the CBIE session about “Listening\, benchmarking\, acting: turning survey insights into institutional change” on November 22\, at the Rogers Centre\, Ottawa. \nAbout the session: \nFrom data to action: In this session\, survey insights will be used to move beyond anecdote and into targeted action\, improving student satisfaction\, belonging\, and institutional decision-making from the start of the international educational journey. The presenters will make use of large-scale globally benchmarked data to better understand international student opinions and how data can support institutions in identifying priorities for enhancement across key areas of the student experience. \nDrawing on institutional examples\, the session will highlight how survey findings can be translated into practical improvements in areas such as arrival\, academic support\, employability\, communication\, and student services. Both case studies can each contribute a practitioner perspective on how data-informed decision-making supports retention\, reputation\, and student success. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of how to interpret survey results\, engage internal stakeholders\, and turn findings into measurable improvements. \nCBIE2026 is Canada’s International Education conference and will take place on 22-25 November 2025 in Ottawa. This year’s theme – At the Global Nexus: International Education’s Role in Canada’s Global Leadership – will examine how education\, mobility\, and global engagement can continue to strengthen partnerships\, deepen collaboration\, and prepare globally minded talent to succeed in a changing world\, ensuring international education remains central to Canada’s future prosperity\, resilience\, and global leadership. \nInterested in knowing more?
