SUMMARY:CBIE2026 | Listening\, benchmarking\, acting: turning survey insights into institutional change
DESCRIPTION:Join Eric Simard (Fanshawe College)\, Andrew Champagne (Edunova)\, and Nannette Ripmeester (etio) for the CBIE session about “Listening\, benchmarking\, acting: turning survey insights into institutional change” on November 22\, at the Rogers Centre\, Ottawa. \nAbout the session: \nFrom data to action: In this session\, we will use survey insights to move beyond anecdote and into targeted action\, improving student satisfaction\, belonging\, and institutional decision-making from the start of the international educational journey. We use large-scale\, globally benchmarked data to better understand international students’ opinions and how this can support institutions in identifying priorities for enhancement across key areas of the student experience. \nDrawing on institutional examples\, the session will highlight how survey findings can be translated into practical improvements in areas such as arrival\, academic support\, employability\, communication\, and student services. Both case studies can contribute a practitioner perspective on how data-informed decision-making supports retention\, reputation\, and student success. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of how to interpret survey results\, engage internal stakeholders\, and turn findings into measurable improvements. \nJoin Andrew Champagne\, Eric Simard and Nannette Ripmeester for what promises to be(come) an intriguing session on Tuesday 24 November from 4 – 5 pm. \nCBIE2026 is Canada’s International Education conference and will take place on 22-25 November 2025 in Ottawa. This year’s theme – At the Global Nexus: International Education’s Role in Canada’s Global Leadership – will examine how education\, mobility\, and global engagement can continue to strengthen partnerships\, deepen collaboration\, and prepare globally minded talent to succeed in a changing world\, ensuring international education remains central to Canada’s future prosperity\, resilience\, and global leadership. \nInterested in knowing more? SUMMARY:COILectiVE NL Symposium | Nuffic
DESCRIPTION:The COILectiVE NL Symposium focuses on COIL VE’s future role in Internationalisation at Home.\nIt brings together a range of perspectives – from policy and strategy to research and educational practice – and highlights how COIL VE continues to develop in the Netherlands. \nThe symposium is organised in collaboration with the Centre of Expertise Global & Inclusive Learning at The Hague University of Applied Sciences and COILectiVE NL\, the Dutch national knowledge hub for COIL VE in vocational education and higher education. It responds to the growing need for knowledge sharing and collaboration in the field. \nOn Thursday\, the 26th of November\, Keiko Ikeda & Nannette Ripmeester will run a workshop:\nFrom Experience to Recognition: Building Shared Understandings of International Learning \nWhat will they discuss? Innovative formats such as Virtual Exchange\, COIL VE\, Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs)\, and blended mobility increasingly shape international learning. But how are these experiences understood beyond higher education? This interactive workshop explores how employers interpret international learning and the evidence used to demonstrate it. Participants will compare their assumptions with employer perspectives\, examine diverse forms of evidence including student work\, digital badges\, and micro-credentials\, and discuss what makes learning meaningful and transferable. The session concludes by exploring how universities and employers can build shared understandings of value\, strengthening recognition of international learning achievements across educational and professional contexts.
