Employability Training for International Students

Project Title

Employability Training for International Students

Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore is dedicated to improving students’ employability skills, providing instrumental support through a wide range of organized activities, and opportunities to study and work abroad. In its quest for constant improvement on student employability support, UCSC has acquired CareerProfessor.works (CP), an employability app developed by Expertise in Labour Mobility (ELM), and has also opted for additional offline/online career-related activities that ELM specializes in, such as workshops, webinars, CV checks and mock interviews that support student engagement with CP.

We run 4 webinars and 2 workshops annually on topics related to ‘Looking for work around the globe’ & ‘Unpacking study abroad into career success’, to maximize the online/offline employability support at UCSC and engage students to train their employability skills with CP. These workshops and webinars provide students with helpful knowledge and tips to succeed in the global workplace but also serve as a great opportunity to engage students to train their intercultural competence with the CareerProfessor app.

Students have the opportunity to compete with their peers to see who is the most knowledgeable when it comes to international job markets and intercultural skills. The CP leader-board feature not only allows users to see who has scored most points but also opens up marketing opportunities for the UCSC communication office. We run monthly or bi-monthly competitions between faculties or the overall student population that uses CP. The prizes for the winners are either a CV check or a Mock Interview (conducted by ELM).
