Certain visitors to the Expertise in Labour Mobility website choose to interact with our website in ways that require Expertise in Labour Mobility to gather personal information. The amount and type of information that ELM collects, depends on the nature of the interaction, and your decision about what you want to share for which purpose. ELM collects information about you when you:

BROWSING OUR WEBSITE

ELM does not directly track individual users of our sites. However, third-party tools are used for faster graphics delivery; and to collect the same information that most website operators collect about the visitor’s browser type, referring site, the date and time of each visitor request, and Internet Protocol (IP) address. The latter technologies collect data about users, but not for the purposes of serving interest-based advertising on our or other websites. ELM does not display any third-party advertising on its website, nor do we receive any form of payment from such advertising, nor do we have access to the individual data collected.

COOKIES

We may make use of “cookies” to gather additional information relating to internet usage. Cookies are small text files which are transferred from our website and stored on your device. We use cookies to help us provide you with a personalised service, and to help make our website better for you.

Our cookies may be session cookies (temporary cookies that help make our website usable by enabling basic functions, such as page navigation and access to secure areas of the website, which are deleted when you close your browser or leave your session in the application or service) or persistent cookies (cookies which enable our website to “remember” your preferences, such as what you have put into your shopping basket, and which will stay on your computer or device until you finish your shopping session).

You are able to accept or decline the cookies by clicking on the Privacy & Cookies Policy tab that is always available at the bottom of our website.

For more information about cookies and instructions on how to adjust your browser settings to accept, delete or reject cookies, see the www.allaboutcookies.org website.

SUBSCRIBING TO OUR NEWSLETTER

On our ELM website, there is an option to sign up for our newsletter and for this to happen, ELM asks visitors to provide first name, last name and an email address. This is for basic identification purposes and to ensure that your account is unique to your email address. We do not make these available to the public and we do not share this listing with third parties.

ELM uses the online mailing platform MailChimp to keep in touch with clients, subscribers, colleagues and partners by email. This is the industry-standard service for sending emails to large groups of people. You can find more information about Mailchimp’s updated Data Processing Agreement and third-party vendor contracts to meet the GDPR’s requirements here.

As a subscriber to our newsletter, you can decide to stop receiving emails from us at any time using the “unsubscribe” link at the end of every email we send. This will also erase your name and email address from our register, i.e. the mailing list.

COMMUNICATING WITH YOU BY EMAIL

We will use your email address provided by you or by a trusted third party to communicate with you. We would always first ask if you would be happy to be added to a specific mailing list, to be contacted either with information relevant to our field or with news and updates on our services and products.

We will not use your e-mail address to communicate with you if for any reason, you ask us not to contact you and you always have the right to request the removal of your e-mail from any of our mailing lists.

ORDERING OUR GUIDES

Visitors who engage in transactions with ELM to order our guides are asked to provide additional information, including the necessary personal and financial information required to process those transactions. ELM collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfil the visitors’ request to purchase our guides and deletes the information a month after an order has been completed. Visitors can always refuse to provide ELM with personally-identifying information, however, this will prevent them from engaging in certain service purchases and website-related activities.

INFORMATION AND CONTROL OVER YOUR DATA

Personal data, which you provide to us is only accessible to the ELM team and is only used for the purpose(s) for which you gave consent at the time of providing it. All data are stored in the Netherlands. We will not share your personal data with third parties. Aggregated data will be presented and trusted third parties including collaborators can use these anonymous overviews.

We might share certain aggregated, anonymous information with others about how our users, collectively, use the ELM website, or how our users respond to our other offerings, such as our workshops, trainings or events. However, we do not share, sell, rent, or trade individual personal information with third parties for their commercial purposes. We do not sell this information to advertisers or marketers and you will not receive any communication from third parties as a result of completing a survey, ordering or using a product.

We do not host advertising on the ELM website. However, we may occasionally embed content from third-party sites, such as YouTube and Giphy, and unfortunately, that content may include ads.

You have the right to request if ELM stored and processed any of your personal data and if so, to access your personal data that ELM holds (article 15 of GDPR). According to article 16 of GDPR, you have the right to edit any inaccurate personal data about you stored in our data platforms. You also have the right to request that this data is not processed or be modified or erased (articles 17 and 21 of GDPR). In addition, you have the right of access to all your personal data in an Excel file (article 20 of GDPR) to enable data portability. These rights apply at any time, and ELM will comply within one month of a request being received. You can make such a request by contacting gdpr@labourmobility.com.
