Author of the “Anglo-EU translation Guide”

found = Nannette Ripmeester!

In the late 1990’s Expertise in Labour Mobility was asked to provide a 2-day company training for an international group of senior managers that were all new to a project and had to become a smooth working intercultural team. Day 1 was not smooth at all. Day 2 needed a sturdy icebreaker. And that became the Anglo Dutch Translation guide!

‘What Brits say v What they mean’ became one of the most-read posts on the Oxfam blog – Thanks Duncan Green! It featured in academic circles, supporting those struggling with reviews, it was used in publications and trainings (not always crediting the author), but it brought a smile to many faces and acted as fun way of saying Culture Matters.

Happy for you to use it, provided you credit Nannette Ripmeester as she did write it back in the late 1990’s.
